Baby Jailyn: If You Can't Put Your Kids First, Don't Have Children

By now, y'all would've heard about a woman, Kristel Candelorio, who left her baby daughter, Jailyn Candelorio in her play pen, with several bottles of milk to go on a vacation for 10 days with a male friend/boyfriend. Jailyn endured unspeakable hunger, thirst, and terrifying abandonment and eventually succumbed to starvation and dehydration.

Parenthood demands full focus and responsibility to go into caring and nurturing of your children. If you're not ready, even if you're in your 80s (like Robert De Niro), DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN. If your priority in your life is yourself (which is perfectly fine), then be very careful so you don't end up with a kid.

Kristel Candelario should pop up in the mind of everyone who's work is pestering others to have children, even though they made it clear that they are not enchanted by the idea of having little ones for any reason for that matter. LEAVE PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT KIDS ALONE. Everyone who harasses others, including your adult children to have children, STOP. Enough. You don't know their readiness and capacity and it's a personal decision.

If you end up with a kid or a pet who depends on you for care, then you cannot simply leave for a vacation without arranging someone to look after your kid or pet. Can't do that? Don't have kids.

Do you know why Jailyn's death is so heartbreaking? It's because she had an identity in this world. She lived, albeit shortly. She graced the world with her smile and scarred hearts with her wails for help. Yeah, I hear you people say abortion is murder. Yet, in this world, there exists people who abort two million fetuses in a year just because they're female. Pro-lifers have been very quiet on that.

Also, parenting is a shared responsibility. To date, no one asked about Jailyn's father who went on a vacation interminably. Her grandparents were on vacation too. What is this family, always on vacation mode? How did they expect a 16 month old baby to care for herself?

People are defending Kristel, citing post partum depression. But she showed immense lack of care for Jailyn, lied to the EMT team that Jailyn wouldn't eat, "explaining" the weight loss, changed an unresponsive Jailyn's soiled clothes before calling 911, and talked about how she can't wait to go home while in police custody. So, I don't buy the PPD story.

"Time enjoyed is the true time lived," Kristel wrote in her Facebook as her baby starved to death. Like I said, if you want to enjoy life, don't have children. Too many people who are unfit to be parents become one and spoil their children's life with their various parental conditions and irresponsibility.
