Unpopular Opinion: Animal is a Feminist Cult
I just realized that Animal movie has a lot of feminist elements in it. I've spat on the movie. But now, it's making me go, "Just WOW."
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has cleverly interspersed feminism in Animal. I just managed to discern the subtlety of it. Let's go!
1. Promotes consent.
The male lead gets upset that the doctors didn't wake him up from coma and ask if they could shave his chest hair for surgery. That scene gives the, "My body. My rules," vibes. No one should touch another without consent.
2. Normalizes body hair.
Notice how dejected the male lead gets when he discovers that his dad's body hair was shaved and then his? It's his way to say that body hair is normal for everyone.
3. Clarifies the purpose of pubic hair.
4. Encourages sons to not be Mommy's Armpit Princes.
The male lead breaks the Indian mommy boys stereotype. As you can see, he has no mommy issues. And his mom never fights with his wife. What a revolutionary plot!
