Dear Indian Women, You Can't Get Away With Murder

Dear Indian Women, You Can't Get Away With Murder

🛑 Women. Murder is NOT Empowerment. It's Incarceration.

Lately, news stories have been pouring in — Indian women killing men who are their husbands/son. Reasons?

🔹 Woman was addicted to drugs and was cheating
🔹 Woman was in love with someone else and eliminated her arranged-marriage spouse
🔹 A mother killed her son for discovering her affair

Let’s get real now...

💔 Marriage problems ≠ License to kill

If you’re in a loveless, forced, or broken marriage — or if you've fallen in love with someone else — divorce is the way out.

  • Yes, society will judge; some guy will say that divorce favors women because you dressed up like going to a party or laughed with abandon.
  • Men will cry "alimony" without proper research or reason.
  • Parents will create a scene; they will interfere and arbitrate because their "honor and authority" are at stake.
  • Everyone will judge your every move; when your grown son comes to visit, people will say that the young man is your "lover".

But killing a man doesn't make you strong. It makes you a criminal.
You're not "reclaiming your life" — you're destroying it.
Choose divorce over destruction.

👰🏽‍♀️ Forced marriage? Don't fake it, fight it.

If you're being forced to marry someone, and your family won’t accept the man you love —

  • 🚨 Leave the wedding dais.
  • 🚨 Talk to the intended groom.
  • 🚨 Get help.

But here’s the catch — the system must help too.

The police and the law should STOP hiding behind:

  • ❌ “Parents know best”
  • ❌ “This is our culture”
  • ❌ “It'll all work out after the wedding/baby/next baby”

Instead, they must protect women from forced marriages. It's not culture if it crushes consent.

💩We demonize Western women for choosing divorce. But…

We mock Western women for divorcing over “small things”.

But ask yourself —
Why don’t they murder their husbands to be with someone else?

Because they have the freedom to divorce without being demonized.

Men can't enjoy true freedom if women aren't free to make choices without violence or shame.
More freedom = fewer crimes. It's that simple.

✅ Is it true that Western women generally divorce instead of resorting to murder?

Yes — and there’s credible data and sociological context to support it.

🔹 1. Murder by women in intimate relationships is far less common in the West

According to FBI data (USA):

  • Around 80% of intimate partner homicides are committed by men.

  • Only 20% are committed by women, and among those, many are linked to self-defense or history of abuse.

In countries like the UK, Canada, and Australia, the pattern is similar:
🔸 When women kill their partners, it is rarely about “getting rid of the man for a lover” — and almost always tied to prolonged domestic abuse or a mental health crisis.

In contrast, deliberate murders by women to clear the way for a lover (as seen in some recent Indian cases) are statistically rare in the West.

🔹 2. Higher divorce rates correlate with lower domestic homicide

Western countries with liberal divorce laws and lower stigma around separation — like Sweden, Canada, and France — see:

  • Fewer cases of marital homicide

  • More women choosing legal separation over criminal solutions

This correlation suggests:

🟢 When divorce is accessible, affordable, and socially acceptable, women are more likely to exit than eliminate.

🔹 3. Cultural stigma in South Asia often turns divorce into a ‘last resort’

In India, for example:

  • Divorce carries heavy social shame, especially for women.

  • Families often discourage it to "save face" or for financial dependency reasons.

  • Legal battles are slow, costly, and emotionally draining.

This pushes some women to the edge — and, tragically, violence may appear like a 'shortcut' out of oppression or conflict.
But it’s not. It’s a trap.

💡Not glorifying Western women here...

Western women are not inherently better.
They just have better systems:
✔️ Stronger support networks
✔️ Accessible mental health care
✔️ Lower social stigma around walking away
✔️ Legal recourse that works

So, the point stands:

“Western women don’t murder to be with their lovers — they divorce. Because they’re freer.”

🕵🏽‍♀️ Dear Indian women, you won't get away with it. Ever.

In this digital age, you cannot cover your tracks.
Murder isn’t just wrong. It's short-sighted.
It’ll ruin your life. Your family. Your freedom.

So to every Indian woman out there feeling stuck, suffocated or scared:

  • ⚖️ Use the law, don’t break it.
  • 🧠 Be smart.
  • 💪🏽 Be brave.
  • 🙅🏽‍♀️ But don’t kill.

✊Conclusion...

Systemic pressure doesn’t justify individual violence. No matter how broken marriage laws, family expectations, or cultural stigmas are, murder is never a solution. It’s irreversible. It ends lives — both the victim’s and the perpetrator’s.

  • Women deserve freedom, legal options, and support.

  • Forced marriage and social shame over divorce are real problems.

  • But taking a life out of desperation or rage isn’t empowerment — it’s a tragedy.

And my comparison with Western societies isn’t about glorifying them — it’s about highlighting what’s possible when women are free to walk away without being vilified or punished.

I'm advocating for accountability without dehumanization — and that’s the kind of voice we need more of. We must work together to protect each other.

  1. Actually true. Women thinking like men isn't the solution. Such cases have indeed increased
