Does Political Leader Vijay Care about Women's Safety?

For Women's Day 2025, I posted a blog about what's wrong in Vijay's Women's Day Message. Post divorce petition filed by Sangeetha Vijay and his political followers' response to it - proved me right.

In his message, Vijay spoke about women's safety, calling women in Tamilnadu his "mothers, sisters, and friends":

"Women will only be happy if they are safe - DMK failed in ensuring women's safety."

  • Indeed, DMK failed.
  • Is TVK any better?
  • Because Vijay failed the mother of his own children.
  • He failed to deliver safety for Sangeetha.
  • And he promised safety for the women of Tamilnadu.
I am not taking any sides - but Vijay's lack of action to safeguard the woman who shared life with him for 26 years:
  • Raising their children
  • Supporting his career... Speaks volumes.

Sangeetha is being viciously abused online by the very people who showered her with affection for being Vijay's support system.
  • Suddenly, she's the "boss lady and troublemaker."
  • Suddenly, she's "an elite lady with close ties with DMK."
  • Suddenly, she's "DMK's stooge."
  • Suddenly, she's a "sl*t, a wh0re, and a b!tch.
Lol, these claims make me reminisce of TN men from TVK and NTK calling me a DMK minion just because I'm from a Telugu-speaking family in Malaysia.
  • There are no DMK branches in Malaysia.
  • I am in the MUDA political party, led by Syed Saddiq.
  • My political turf itself is in shambles - why would I involve myself in Indian politics?
  • I also follow American politics - does that make me a Democrat, lol? 😂

Seeing the uncouth behavior from Vijay's so-called political supporters toward Sangeetha and Trisha makes me wonder:
  • Vijay wouldn't even ensure public safety for the woman he shared his life with and a colleague...
  • How would he ensure safety for the women of Tamilnadu?
  • Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for Vijay to acknowledge the misogyny he spread through his movies.
  • Most of his male fans are followers of Andrew Tate and consumed by the manosphere.
  • To date, Vijay never once told them to respect women.
In a strategic move, Vijay should tell his fans to stop abusing Sangeetha because:
  • She's the mother of his children.
  • He has a daughter - lest she decides to cut ties with him - would his fans give her r@pe threats?
  • All of his supporters should respect his privacy and personal boundaries.
  • He should remember and implement his 2025 Women's Day promise beginning from the women in his life.
A good politician won't let his followers do the dirty work for him, capitalizing on extant misogyny - they'd stand against their own followers who run amok - and lead them to the rightful path.
If Vijay issued a reprimand against his followers going on an abusive spree on the woman he married and a co-worker:
  • It will boost his political image.
  • It will make Sangeetha's allegations appear utterly unbelievable.
  • It will make Trisha's involvement unjustified.
  • He will lead by example.
  • A lot of misogyny in Tamil men will be crushed.
  • DMK will lose out.
Whatever happens next in the family court can be contested later. But such a reprimand defending the public safety of women in his life is essential - immaterial of fallout.

Because, Vijay isn't just an actor anymore - he's a political leader and he should be more aggressive when it comes to controlling his followers' bad behaviour.

And since Vijay haven't walked his talk, Sangeetha's allegations against him do seem truthful.
  • He restricted her movement when she questioned him.
  • He cut her normal expenses.
  • He didn't treat her with respect.
It does seem like Vijay's letting his toxic fanbase set the narrative against Sangeetha and Trisha - with unfettered abandon.

He doesn't have to do the right thing or stick by his words as a politician because his fans indulge in blind idolatry.

May your Thalapathy win the election - I'd really like to see what he'll do for women's safety when he didn't care a damn about Sangeetha's online and public safety.

Yes, Sangeetha put forth allegations against her husband - and the court of law shall litigate. But does that mean he can let his fans cum political cadre mudsling her - riding on their patriarchal mindsets?
